Life Is Hard

We all know life is hard, so hard that no one has ever got out of it alive. Even before our parents’ seeds made contact, we were already struggling fiercely for survival. Our fathers’ seed that would soon be a part of us had to go through the seemingly harmless but toxic passageway to our mothers’ seed that is waiting desperately just to be fertilized. And when they united, that is the start of our lives, one challenging life. But we still have to endure nine long months inside our mothers’ womb for us to see the bitter sweet world waiting for us.

When we first breathe in air and first saw light, death has already welcomed us to this cruelly kind world. The moment that we signed up for life is the same moment that we registered our names in death’s checklist. For us to be fed, we have to cry out loud for our parents to hear us. We have to cry for them to know that we are in pain and in need of their comforting care.

We have to work for the things we need, and exert extra effort for the stuffs we need. In physics, no work, no change. So to get what I want and what I need, I have to double or triple work I am exerting.

Reading what I have just is already exhausting and takes much time. But conceptualizing what to blog is much more difficult. Every now and then, we always encounter stuffs that are troublesome for us. We fancied for an easy life; Life where everything that we need and wanted are just a single step away. But to have a tranquil life is pricey both literally and figuratively.

You wanted to have the dishes done with ease, you have to buy a dishwasher, hire a house help or both. But any of the choices has a big price tag.

You wanted the house be painted, it is either you have to do it yourself or pay someone else do it.
In this world nothing is easy.

The only way to have a comfortable life is, loving what you are doing. Confucius once mentioned, “Chose a job that you want and you will never work a single day”. Even Confucius does not have an easy answer for “loving” is a hard thing to do.

All we need to understand is that, the harder success is the sweeter it will taste. We have to work things out hardly to have an easy life at the end of the day. There is no easier solution than doing it the hard way.

Easy life is not a toy that we enjoy playing but a treasure to work for. We have to earn that laidback life. It would not be rewarding if you had an easy life but exerted no effort at all. Easy come, easy go. Your happiness would not last long in a life where everything is easily gained.

Like in the movie “Pursuit to Happiness”, Smith’s story started out to be smooth and comfortable. But along the way, unexpected stuffs cut across his way. He had a hard time keeping up with his family’s need. Then his wife left him and their son for she can no longer withstand the hardships they have. His world came crushing down. He does not have a job. He had nothing to feed his son. Soon he lost his house. He and his son were homeless and hungry in the streets. They have to stay in a hospice home just to have food and shelter. Smith needed a job. He searched very hard for a job. He searched here and there for vacancies. Then he found one. But his hardships did not stop there.  He had to compete relentlessly with the other applicants for that same job he wanted. And at the end of the day, he got the job he needed. Soon [he became very successful and had a stable income to keep up with his and his son’s needs.

There is no easy way to a happy life. We have to pursue through hardships and unending obstacles to be happy. For the hardest steal is moulded in the hottest furnace.
